SIGTRYGGUR BJARNI BALDVINSSON

Muddy River - Pictures of Jökulsá á Fjöllum
Sigtryggur Bjarni Baldvinsson was educated at at the Icelandic Collage of Art and Crafts and National Superieur des Arts Plastique and he graduated from École des Arts Decoratifs in Strasbourg 1994. He lives and works in Reykjavík and his works have been exhibited in many galleries and museums in Iceland.
Running water has been  Sigtryggurs motif for  years and  another aspect of his work as a painter is a search to understand natural phenomena through the act of painting. To try to understand the incomprehensible flux that happens when the light reflects on the surface of the water, pulled down by the earth over stones, sand and mud.
The exhibitions theme is the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum.  Moods, forms and the heavy energy of the water is described in oil paintings, watercolors and photographs.

The museum is open every day except Mondays from 13:00 to 17:00 and the entrance is free.
